Orthopaedic Surgeon & Sports Injury Specialist Derby

Mr Guido Geutjens is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based at the Royal Derby Hospital and Derby Nuffield Hospital. A Specialist Knee and Sports Injury Surgeon, he has 20 years of experience in all aspects of knee surgery.

Mr Geutjens' extensive knowledge and surgical skills means he is invited to lecture all over the world. Based in Derby, he is the Consulting Orthopaedic Consultant to a number of professional sports teams and has operated on international footballers, commonwealth medalists, Olympic athletes and world champions.

Mr Geutjens has performed over 7,000 arthroscopies and 3000 anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions throughout his career. He also has considerable experience in knee replacements and osteotomy procedures around the knee. His specialist areas of interest include cartilage meniscus tears and transplants and arthritis in the young. Mr Geutjens is also known for his work with the repair of rare and difficult muscle injuries of the leg. Mr Geutjens has both an NHS and a private practice in Derby.

Mr Geutjens' private practice is based at Derby Nuffield Hospital. His private patients can benefit from comfortable, private rooms and the latest medical and surgical equipment.

Mr Geutjens' NHS practice is based at the Derby Royal Hospital. This hospital has been recognised as a high performing Trust by the Department of Health.

Professional Lectures

Mr Geutjens' lectures on a range of subjects relating to complex knee ligament reconstructions. He teaches other knee surgeons in the UK and lectures internationally.

About Mr Guido Geutjens

Mr Guido Geutjens qualified from Medical School in July 1987. His surgical training was carried out in Nottingham, Derby, Leeds and the West Midlands. Mr Geutjens completed two specialist fellowships in Paris, Nottingham and Derby. He has continued to develop his interest and surgical expertise in knee surgery ever since and is renowned for his expertise.
